Papá Tou and Juanita migrated from Guangzhou, China to Lima, Perú with less than $20 in their pockets. They met and fell in love in Perú, their new home country.
With hard-work, dedication and passion; they got married, started their family and decided to pursue their dreams of sharing their cuisine with the world.
Opened their first restaurant in Óvalo Higuereta, Santiago de Surco, Lima under the name of Chifa Perla del Mar.
Anson and Vikki were born in the 1990s. Little would they know that they would all work and live for their Chifa passion: To share their culture through their culinary skills from Perú to the world.
The Tou family opened their second Chifa in San Borja, Perú under the name of Chifa Du Kang. The very first Chifa Du Kang in the world.
After crafting their culinary skills for over 17 years, the family opened the third Chifa Du Kang in the district of Miraflores in Lima.
But the Tou family’s hunger for growth and their unwavering spirit beckoned them to new horizons. In 2008, they embarked on a new chapter, leaving their beloved Lima behind and crossing the seas to sunny Florida, USA.
The Tou family decided to migrate to the US in the 2000’s and opened the first Chifa Du Kang overseas, in Bird Road, Miami, FL USA.
The grown up Chifa kids encouraged the family to open the second Chifa Du Kang location in Kendall, Miami, FL USA.
