Cafe Villa Clara of Kendall: A Little Corner of Cuba in Miami

Cafe Villa Clara of Kendall promises to provide its visitors with an unforgettable experience thanks to its “irresistible delicacies” that will take you on a journey through the authentic flavour of traditional Cuban cuisine in a simple, quiet and cosy atmosphere.

Café Villa Clara was born in 2008 with the aim of offering a space where diners can taste those dishes that identify the cuisine of Cuba, that cuisine that has been passed down from generation to generation as it is prepared in Cuban homes.

In this place located in the College Park Plaza Shopping Center, the menu is served complete: appetizers, main course, drinks and desserts. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served. An excellent option to enjoy with family, friends or simply business meetings.

Cafe Villa Clara Menu

As we have already mentioned, Cafe Villa Clara’s forte is to offer traditional Cuban food with the authentic seasoning of this cuisine. So that’s what you’ll get in the more than 50 dishes on the menu.

Breakfast

To start the day recharged, Cafe Villa Clara of Kendall serves perico ripiao, vegetarian omelette, steak a caballo, pancakes, omelettes, burritos and croissant that you can accompany with a cup of American coffee or with milk, tea, hot or cold chocolate, milk or juice.

Sandwiches

This includes the traditional sandwich with the two square slices of bread, but also includes stuffed bread and hamburgers. You can choose between a simple ham and cheese sandwich, a club house sandwich, a chicken sandwich or a Cuban sandwich.

When it comes to stuffed bread, you have two options: bread with suckling pig or bread with steak, both of which are delicious! Not to mention the hamburgers offered at the Villa Clara Cafe in Kendall. There you can find the popular Cuban frita and chicken or beef burgers.

Dishes of the house

As a house speciality, Cafe Villa Clara’s menu offers more than 30 dishes including beef, pork, chicken and seafood.

  • Beef

Among the dishes made with beef, it is impossible not to include fried cow, ropa vieja, rabo encendido, picadillo, churrasco, breaded steak and sautéed steak, dishes in which you can feel the homemade flavour that is achieved in Cuban cuisine with the spices used for seasoning, such as garlic, cumin, oregano or black pepper.

  • Chicken

With the exception of the chicken chicharrón, the dishes served at Cafe Villa Clara in Kendall are made from the chicken breast. From the breast comes the milanesa, breaded chicken breast, grilled chicken breast and chicken fingers with fries. The secret to get the Cuban flavour in the chicken is to season it with garlic, ginger and pepper.

  • Pork

Pork is typical in Cuban cuisine, and Cafe Villa Clara serves pork dumplings, boneless roast suckling pig, pork chop, grilled or breaded pork steak and BBQ pork ribs.

  • Fish and seafood

This restaurant serves salmon, fish fingers, garlic shrimp, enchilados or breaded shrimp. Tilapia, serrucho and fish soups are also served.

Desserts

To round off the menu of this café-restaurant with a flourish, we cannot leave out the desserts. It includes rice pudding, ice cream, brownie, flan, tres or cuatro leches cake.

With this detailed menu, there is no excuse to visit Cafe Villa Clara in Kendall if you are craving for traditional Cuban food.

An excellent option is to explore Peruvian gastronomy. It is acclaimed all over the world for the variety of its dishes, both in its traditional version and in fusions with other cuisines.

A clear example is how Peru opened up to Asian food, specifically Chinese and Japanese, giving rise to the emergence of two new cuisines: Nikkei and Chifa. The first, Peruvian-Japanese fusion; the second, Peruvian-Chinese fusion.

Both cuisines are present in Miami with several exponents located in the best places in the city. If you’re up for discovering Chifa food, an excellent place to try it is the Chifa Du Kang restaurant.
